![]() ![]() Now run the game from the explorer window, NOT from within Steam. First open up steam_appid.txt with any notepad like program and change the AppID number to DisplayFusion's AppID number 227260. ![]() I'm going to use the game 10,000,000 as my example. PRO TIP: Try indie games, they seem to work for the most part. Many games have these files, but some will just not work for this method because of Steam DRM, this is where the trial and error part comes in for you, you'll just have to try them out. NOTE: If a game has a steam_api.dll in its directory, you can create a steam_appid.txt with the correct value, even if it didn't have the file originally. What you are looking for is a game that has both a steam_api.dll and steam_appid.txt file in the install directory of the game. There is another way to idle time that doesn't require SAM, but this way requires a little trial and error on your part to find a game that you own and have installed that can be used, some work and some don't.įirst right click a game in your Steam library list and go to Properties > Local Files tab > Browse local files. When you are finished just close the windows to exit SAM. If all is right, check your Steam Profile and you should see that you are "Currently In-Game DisplayFusion". You are done, if another window popped after clicking the banner then you are now idling time. PRO TIP: App ID's can be found for anything by looking at the end numbers in the Store Page URL. You'll need to enter the App ID for DisplayFusion. Now run SAM (Steam will also need to be running) and a window like below will open. ![]() PRO TIP: Be sure to put on sunglasses before going to Gib's website. DisplayFusion is NOT VAC protected so there is zero risk of getting banned here. ![]() Exit any active VAC protected games if you are running any, better safe than sorry. I also want to say that SAM is portable (no installation needed) and is completely safe, no one has ever been VAC banned from using it, but as a precaution. First order of business is that you'll need to download SAM (Steam Achievement Manager) from Gib's website. ![]()
